The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) will be hosting an ice cream social to kick off the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. We are mainly Comp Sci but anyone and everyone interested in tech is welcome! :)
What do we do?
- Host meetings with tech companies.
- Sponsor student led project and discussion groups known as Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
- Sponsor a trip to Urbana for a computer science conference called Reflections | Projections hosted by the UIUC ACM early October. You must be a member to attend this event.
- Host social events like LAN parties. Come out and meet people. It's fun!
Most of our services are open to everyone but it's always nice to get new members. Membership is only $10 or show us proof you are a member of the National ACM. You must be a member of the UIC Chapter of the ACM for the following:
- Access the ACM network.
- Have an account on our Linux servers.
- Perform system administration.
- Be eligible to attend Reflections | Projections.
Hope to see you there!
